This zine takes a closer look at unknown paperback books that cost over $1000 on Amazon.com.

Taken from “Look inside” previews from one prolific author’s books, curious patterns emerge: poor English translation (most likely computer-generated), lack of basic copyediting (for example, different font sizes, bullet points without text), and an unusually exorbitant price. In fact, Amazon requires the customer to be home to accept the delivery of these precious tomes.

Spammy Humans is a continuation of research from Grifting the Amazon, exploring how mysterious authors sell expensive, shoddy books online for an audience that is difficult to decipher.
